General information
Hypothyroidism is characterised by insufficient production of thyroid hormones. In case this is present from early in life (puppy) onwards we use the term congenital.
Clinical features
Tiredness, weight gain and/or feeling depressed. Additionally, a goiter (swelling in the neck) can be present.
Growth retardation, bone malformation, delayed dental eruption and guard hair formation.
