With our new DNA test for Cardiomyopathy and juvenile mortality (CJM) in the Belgian Shepherd mutations for this serious condition can be detected, helping breeders to prevent sudden death of puppies. Affected puppies present at about 8 weeks of age with vomiting, shortness of breath, and sometimes spontaneous bouts of tremors and twitching. Sudden death by heart failure is highly likely.
Cardiomyopathy and juvenile mortality in the Belgian Shepherd can be tested with test number H807 or as part of the CombiBreed package for Belgian Shepherds (test number H513).
