Ichthyosis is a disease of the skin causing the formation of flaky “scales”. Ichthyosis is common in the Golden Retriever and in this breed two mutations are known, Golden Retriever Ichthyosis type 1 and type 2. Both mutations are now included in one DNA test, Ichthyosis type 1 & 2 – Golden Retriever, with test number H858.
