The canine disease cone degeneration (cd) occurs in German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP) dogs. Cd in GSP dogs is phenotypically similar with human achromatopsia. Both achromatopsia and cd are characterised by day-blindness and there is no retinal cone function present.

Clinical features

The main clinical signs of canine cone degeneration (cd) are day-blindness and no retinal cone function in adults.
