Overo lethal white syndrome (OLWS) is an inherited syndrome of foals born to American Paint Horse parents of the overo coat-pattern lineage. The overo pattern can vary along a continuum from a horse with very minimal white to a horse with lots of white.
Clinical features
Foals born with the Overo lethal white syndrome are affected by intestinal tract abnormalities, leading to colic and possible death.
