General information
Dandy-Walker-like malformation (DWLM), a form of cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), is a disorder caused by abnormal brain development, which in turn causes a lack of muscle coordination. DWLM in the Eurasier is caused by a recessive mutation to the gene VLDLR.
Clinical features
Affected dogs begin to present symptoms when they start to walk. These symptoms include rolling and/or leaning, tremors, hypermetric gait (movement of the legs beyond the intended goal), loss of menace response and other difficulties potentially due to processing information of the senses.
